Wymondham Masonic Hall

Damgate Street,
Wymondham,
Norfolk

Map

This building was originally a Weslyan Methodist Chapel, built in 1879 to accommodate 300 people. It is a lofty temple, some 20 feet high, but it has good acoustics. The old vestries now form the bar and the old seating has been reshaped to form the present seating. The original entrance doors have been refitted to form the Temple entrance, making it very impressive.

At the rear of the building was a school room, and this has been converted into a dining room, which was extended in 1959 by some 30 feet. The old building was purchased in 1935 by Doric Lodge, for £400 and £300 was then spent on conversion.

Although the address is Damgate Street, the entrance is from Chandlers Hill.
