The Masonic Foundation for the Aged and the Sick

History

The Foundation was established in 1979 as a result of the Bagnall Report. It was to act as a fund-raising body for the Royal Masonic Benevolent Institution and the Royal Masonic Hospital. However in 1988 as a consequence of the recommendations made by the first Bryce Committee, it was decided that the R.M.B.I. and the R.M.H. should again raise their own funds, and that they should do so in the way they did before the Foundation was created. The Foundation has therefore ceased to hold a Festival.

Donations

Whilst no longer actively raising funds, the Foundation continues to receive personal donations and legacies from time to time. Funds are distributed in accordance with its established custom and charitable aims.
