This building was purchased in 1934 by Joppa Lodge, and it cost £600 to purchase, repair, equip it. Until 1948, the ante room as it is now was used for meetings, and the present Temple was the dining room.

It was requisitioned during the Second World War by the Army, from 1940 t0 1945.

From 1956 onwards, considerable sums have been spent on it for repairs, renovations and furnishings; there are very good dining facilities now, and parking is close by.
